Assisted Living
Our Facility is set up for a wide range of services from completely independent persons who simply no longer wish to keep up their homes, to those requiring added personal and medical assistance.
The great benefit of living at Hackensack Senior Class is that our services are available as you require them, all from the comfort of your own cozy home.
What is Assisted Living?
- Assisted living facilities are for people who may need assistance with daily living activities but still wish to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible.
- Many assisted living residents no longer want to, or are able to, maintain a home and perform all the chores and responsibilities of home ownership.
- Many assisted living residents enjoy living in a community with others that are the same age with similar interests.
- Assisted living facilities offer help, if needed, with daily activites such as preparing and eating meals, housekeeping chores, laundry, dressing, bathing, and assistance with medication.
- Many residents in assisted living centers still own and operate their own automobiles.
- Residents living in assisted living centers may not be comfortable living by themselves but do not require care.
- Assisted living facilities work with residents and their families to create individual service plans for each individual resident upon admission. The service plan details the personalized services, if any, required by the resident and guaranteed by the facility. The plan is updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.
-
An assisted living facility is not a nursing home. Assisted living is not an alternative to a nursing home, but an intermediate level of long-term care appropriate for many seniors.
